Kikisgear was created in 2004. It could not have come at a better time. Our sister had just lost a three year battle to Ovarian cancer and our mother, Kiki, lost herself. A lifelong seamstress, she sewed the first pairs of towel pants for our children, creating our signature pocket from our constant complaints of lost caps and goggles.
Our children began wearing their towel pants to swim practice and the desire for them grew. We made a few pair for their swim team friends, when we realized many more people were interested in them. It was at this time that Kikisgear came to be.
My sister, my mother and I embarked on this journey, and have met and picked up many people along the way. We learned how to sew and finally shared in a passion our mother had her entire life. Our mother found the time she spent sewing with us filling the emptiness she felt inside.
Each year Kikisgear makes donations to several charities.
